Excellent night ladies and gentleman. Welcome to yet another edition of “The Spotlight” with your very individual Common Supervisor of REVOLUTION, American. Previous week, we reviewed my thoughts of what I was to believe to be the Best 5 matches of Wrestlemania 24. This week, we will be speaking about my Backlash Predictions which entails the 4 matches currently manufactured up to final night’s edition of RAW.
one) Batista vs Shawn Michaels: RAW General Supervisor William Regal declared on Monday Night RAW that the match among “The Animal” Batista and the “Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels has been official. Now let’s go over what led to this matchup:
Wrestlemania 24: In what was regarded as the “toughest match of his career”, Shawn Michaels defeated his mentor Ric Flair aka “naitch” and earned himself a new nickname, which is “The man that retired Ric Flair”. Ahead of delivering the choosing blow “Sweet Chin Music”, Shawn Michaels uttered the phrases “Im sorry…I adore you”.
Monday Evening RAW: Shawn Michaels appeared on RAW and explained the emotional roller-coaster that he has been heading via since retiring Ric Flair. Later on that evening, Batista literally stared down “The Showstopper” as he produced his way down to the ring in the course of Ric Flair’s retirement ceremony and gave “The Nature Boy” a massive hug and exchanged a handful of phrases.
Friday Night time Smackdown: Shawn Michaels compensated a go to to the land of Smackdown to handle the followers on his emotional roller-coaster ( much like what he did on RAW ). He explained that following sharing the hug with Ric Flair during the ceremony, he was ultimately starting to uncover some closure. Batista then came out to the ring and known as Shawn Michaels “selfish” for his actions at Wrestlemania and went on to say that HBK knew deep down within that he did the incorrect issue at Wrestlemania.
Previous Evening on RAW: Chris Jericho hosted an additional edition of the “Highlight Reel” with the two Shawn Michaels and Batista getting the unique friends. Following the Intercontinental Champion temporarily jumped on the “HBK Badguy Bandwagon” with Batista, he stepped aside to enable the two visitors to air out there individual views on the Ric Flair scenario. Batista fired at HBK by stating that there was no way in hell that he was sorry for the actions that he took and that he knows he can by no means believe in the Showstopper to make the correct selection once again. Shawn Michaels fired back by asking Batista that if he was really a correct friend of Ric Flair, then why didn’t he speak the Nature Boy out of fighting “Mr. Wrestlemania” which he several possibilities to do so. HBK also pointed out to Batista that the only explanation why Flair selected him as a substitute of Batista was due to the fact Flair knew that HBK was the only one particular that would be capable to carry the burden of retiring Ric Flair for the rest of his existence.
My Pick for who will win at Backlash: ***Shawn Michaels will probably win and silence any critics that imagine that he did the wrong this at Wrestlemania.***
2) Planet Heavyweight Championship: The Undertaker vs Edge: At Wrestlemania, Edge made a valiant try to put an conclude to The Undertaker’s undefeated Wrestlemania streak that had stood at 15-. But The Phenom took in every thing Edge had to offer in route to his 2nd consecutive Wrestlemania Planet Championship victory and operating his undefeated document to sixteen-.
Edge then tried using to acquire himself a slim advantage about the Deadman very last Friday on Smackdown when him and Chavo interfered during the “Champion vs Champion-Brother vs Brother” match…but ended up obtaining himself on the wrong side of a chokeslam.
My Select for who will win at Backlash: ***The Undertaker’s reign of terror will keep on…if the “Edge-heads” don’t get concerned.***
three) WWE Championship: Randy Orton vs JBL vs HHH vs John Cena: Randy Orton shocked the planet at Wrestlemania when he defeated HHH and John Cena to retain his WWE Championship. William Regal came on Raw Monday night time and declared that at Backlash, it will officially be Randy Orton vs JBL for the WWE Championship. Afterwards, Triple H created his claim to the WWE Championship stating that even though he was busy with Ric Flair’s retirement, he believed it was a joke that a guy that goes slapping about leprechaun could probably be a #one contender. Then later on, soon after HHH was extra into the combine, at this moment producing it a Triple Danger Match, John Cena came out and created his claim at how the 4 of them ( referring to HHH, JBL and Randy and himself ) had been the biggest men in the WWE business and how he thinks a Fatal Four Away Match would be a excellent way to exemplify that as a Backlash principal event ( specifically contemplating the simple fact that he defeated all three of them on individual events ). After creating his claim to the title, he was awarded his possibility to be in the match after defeating JBL and HHH in a 2 on one handicap match, with some “inadvertent help” from the WWE Champion, Randy Orton ( who laid out JBL with an RKO ).
My Choose for who will win at Backlash: ***John Cena will win and when once more earn the correct to say his old phrase “The Champ is Here!”***
four) ECW Championship: Kane vs Chavo Guerrero: To begin off, I am glad that the two Kane and Undertaker are heavyweight champions. However, I am not glad at how Kane won the ECW Championship from Chavo Guerrero. But following the activities that took place last week on ECW when Kane picked up a tag staff victory with CM Punk…only to get ambushed by Chavo Guerrero a week later in the course of a “contract signing”, I am led to feel that there will be no other alternative then to have Kane defeat Chavo Guerrero at Backlash. Afterall, the only way I can honestly see Kane successful is if Chavo has his back-up males come support him yet again.
My Select for who will win at Backlash: ***Kane will emerge victorious if no one arrives in to interfere***
five) Huge Present vs The Fantastic Khali: I’m not certain if this match has been produced official to the Backlash card yet, but when it does it will be 1 hell of a match. I suggest you have two giants that will square off, trying to consider every other down in one particular small square-sized ring. On The Great Khali’s aspect, you have monster who can lay out any competitor with one particular vicious chop to the head. On The Big Show’s side, you have a monster who is capable of laying out any competitor with one particular massive punch or even his devastating chokeslam. I believe the choosing element of this match will arrive down to who has much more stamina and who dishes out more offensive strength. And if The Great Khali does not turn into a coward and stroll out the ring once more, I assume every person knows who would win the match.
My Choose for who will win at Backlash: ***The Large Demonstrate for the mere truth that he does not maintain back nor does he hit lightly.***
